31.10.2023 A solo exhibition of the work of the Tampere-based media artist Charles Sandison will open in the basement gallery of Tampere Art Museum next February. Sandison (b. 1969 in England) is one of the internationally best-known artists in Finland. His art has been described as “poetry of light”.

6.10.2023 Visual artist Tuomo Rosenlund and author Mika Hannula collaborate in the joint exhibition Urban Utopia merging visual and verbal storytelling. The Light Gallery is part of the Tampere Festival of Light programme and is produced by the Tampere Art Museum.

16.6.2023 There are two exhibitions opening at the Tampere Art Museum on Saturday 17.6.2023. Eetu Huhtala's oeuvre consists of mechanical and large-scale metal sculptures and other multisensory works. Cruel Radiance, the 2023 edition of the Backlight festival, examines the evidential aspects of matter through photography and the moving image.

9.11.2022 Art historian Selma Green (M.A.) has been appointed Museum Director of the Tampere Art Museum and Moomin Museum. She will assume her duties as the new Museum Director on 1 January 2023.
